Can Texas Actually Secede From The U.S.?

  1. No. That was decided very definitively in 1865.

We can however have our own Navy (no really, we cannot have an army, but we can establish a Texas Navy, if we want)
Also, we can split into 5 states at any time.

    Go figure.

    1. I didn't know about the Navy part.
Yeah, As with my thoughts of using Brixt as an excuse to play a modern Civilwar in the UK, or my Cascadia idea are mostly just a flight of fancy.

    2. Also nothing says a navy can not have a sizable ground component :P

  2. Hawaiian activists have been talking about sovereignty for years. Arguing that Hawaii was illegally annexed. I think the argument has fallen on deaf ears.

    1. Doesn't help that native Hawaiians have been supplanted as the majority population of the Islands ether.
We I have been looking into the history of Hawaii on and of and a lot more now that I am working on my broken union setting. And being in Vegas, I have a few friends who are from the Islands.

    1. The colonial era was not a good time to be any small power. If it wasn't the US, France, Germany, or England would most likely have made a play for the Islands.
Interestingly enough Hawaii is the only state with a none European American Majority, the Majority is comprised of peoples from other Pacific Islands and East Asia.
I have been having trouble trying to decide what will happen to Hawaii in my post American Union setting because currently Hawaii is not self sufficient. And how would it deal with other Pacific power houses?
