Misunderstood Moments in History - The Spartan Myth

2 comments:

  1. I think I was a teenager when I realized that I would not have passed inspection by the Spartan Elders as an infant, and been thrown off the cliff. (I had crooked feet) and my view of the Spartans changed significantly.

Having said that through, I think this guy goes way too far in "setting the record straight". He grinds that axe pretty hard, and I got the distinct impression that he traced his family roots wayyyyy back only to find out he was descended from Helots. :)

    1. Maybe, lol
I just found the Sparta Love to be off base considering the history doesn't pan out. Like yes they did lose, and they gave two craps about "western civilization" or "Democracy".
I just get annoyed with all the folks I see at gun shows with Sparta this and Sparta that. I am like dudes! Your fat ass is not a Spartan. LOL
I wouldn't have even made it to the infanticide test ether consider I was born a month early. So nature would have done its thing for them. lol
But I made a half way decent professional solder. So I say I beat the Spartans in that respect.
