Tintype photos from Afghanistan

The link leads to an article about modern US solders in Afghanistan, who have had self portraits taken with old Tintype photography.
They turned out pretty cool from my point of view.

  1. Interesting link and interesting article. Someone raises the point in the comments field of the article about the millions of photos which are all digital of the conflict and what percentage of them will survive in several hundred years time. Maybe tin-types will be the great survivor? Thanks for posting it.
    Best wishes,
    Jason

    1. That is a pretty good point Jason and it is some thing I have thought about. Digital allows instant clear crisp action photos any where. But if the net/computer/power goes down. How will we be able to retrieve that information? Or those images?
And feel free to share the link. I think more people should see it.
