Sir. Lancalot has passed

As of 12'colock P.M. on Monday my best friend and hound passed away. He could no longer bark or howl and would no longer eat or take treats. And that means no more oral medicine.

The Doctor was pretty good and Lance trusts and likes him. So there was no fear and shivering like with the local vet. Walked him around the park on last time, at least the best he could with his limited energy and took him in.

I held him while the meds were delivered, and I was the last person he saw while he passed. It took less then two seconds to pass out and in 8 his heart stopped.
I miss the little guy.

  1. I'm sorry Chris... anything I could say won't help, but remember the good times.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss, my friend. Even when you know you are doing right by a beloved pet and companion, it is a hard thing to do, isn't it? His last thoughts were surely that his friend was with him.

    1. It is, I still hear phantom sounds of him walking around the house. And every thing reminds me of him. I am sure his last thoughts were of the family. We where all there for him.

  3. There is nothing to say. Beagles are too good for us.
All dogs surely go to heaven, but i know in my heart, beagles get the special park with free range bacon wrapped cats.

    1. They really are, little dude was a sweet heart. And I think he would like that, he couldn't eat bacon in life because fatty greasy things made him sick. But now he can get all he wants.

  5. Condolences, mate. The hardest part of having a fuzz friend is this part here.

    1. Very much so, I do not regret any of it or having him in my life. Or of having to help him on his way.

  7. So very sorry to read this- having been in the same situation myself recently I empathise. Take comfort that he had a good life and you did the best for him.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

    1. Thanks Pete,
Its never easy, but as they say things come these things come in threes. My girl friends ferret just died (long term gland problem) and the sister in laws 89 year old grandpa passed in his sleep, last week. So even though I still miss the old hound, I need to be there for them.

I again thank you for your kind words and I commiserate with your recent loss. I am sure your furry friend also did not lack for love or want for much.

      Cheers,

      Chris.
